About the Char Summit

The purpose of bringing everyone together for the first ever Char Summit for the Western Arctic is to facilitate knowledge-sharing about two char species: Dolly Varden and Arctic Char.

We hope that this Summit will provide an opportunity to build relationships, share community-based science findings and local knowledge, learn about current management challenges. We also hope to explore pathways towards improved collaborative monitoring and research for char that is rooted in both community and Traditional Knowledge as well as Western science.
